ODR requires mediators, regardless of age and experience, to equip themselves with different and additional skills: IT, technological, troubleshooting, other than the communication and negotiation techniques already acquired during basic training. Do we need anything else to conduct online sessions successfully? If so, what is it? Preparation is a key element when conducting meetings with parties (and their lawyers) online, and also a learn-by-doing approach is paramount, in order to get the best out of every session, for the parties at dispute and for ourselves as mediators.
