In this webinar, we explore the often-underestimated leadership dimension of mediation and negotiation. Drawing from his extensive experience, Ian Rigden will illustrate how effective mediators and negotiators are, above all, effective leaders.

They guide individuals and teams through challenging conversations, model calm and emotionally intelligent behavior, and foster environments where trust and collaboration can grow. With strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and active listening, they bridge divides and build consensus across diverse perspectives.

This session will highlight how leadership in mediation is not about authority, but about presence, clarity, and the ability to navigate complexity for shared success. Whether You’re working in teams, organizations, or communities, this webinar will inspire You to embrace Your leadership role in every dialogue You lead.

In mediation, some parties bring more than just their conflicts to the table—they bring deep-seated interests, power dynamics, and resistance to dialogue. Successfully engaging with these complex actors requires a nuanced approach, adaptability, and a deep understanding of human behavior.

This exclusive webinar for alumni explores effective mediation techniques for working with parties who may be perceived as uncooperative, highly strategic, or deeply entrenched in their positions.
